Twitter Rejects Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi Demands on Suspended Account

Controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi on Tuesday made an effort to reach Twitter in a bid to recover his suspended account.

It has emerged Nyakundi might have lost his account altogether after his efforts failed to signal any hope for a possible unsuspension of the account.

Nyakundi had sought to discuss the decision to silence his online siren.

In one of his online platforms, the blogger revealed that the Twitter press office declined to discuss the suspension.

"Twitter press office declined to discuss the suspension of the account saying they do not comment on individual accounts for privacy and security reasons," reads a statement from the blogger.

On Tuesday, Kenyans on Twitter woke up to the news that the highly influential account had been suspended.

A number of netizens had throughout the day campaigned #BringBackNyakundi to have his account unsuspended terming the decision as a major blow to the Kenyan online community and the media.

"If you are a tweep and the suspension of #Nyakundi is not bothering you in any way then something is seriously wrong in your head. You can't just live happily in a place where your neighbours are exterminated one by one," wrote one Duncan Makori.

A number of users who appear to have always been annoyed by Nyakundi's tweets turned the action into their joy.

Nyakundi had confirmed the suspension stating, "Yes, my Twitter account has been suspended over a post that had been used multiple times. I have been a victim of targeted reporting and false claims of abuse due to my views, on a platform that purportedly promotes freedom of expression."

The blogger prides in taking the lead in exposing ills within corporates and occasionally his reports have led media houses in the country to pursue and tell stories of human interest and defending human rights.
