AU Special Envoy Raila Odinga left President Uhuru Kenyatta in stitches after he narrated a story about corruption.
He stated that when he was a Minister for Roads and Public works, his Nigerian counterpart was invited to Malaysia.
His host took the Nigerian minister around Malaysia to show him the infrastructure that they had built.
In the evening, the minister was treated to dinner by his host. Impressed, the Nigerian asked his counterpart how he could afford his lifestyle.
The Malaysian took his guest to the balcony which had a nice view of the highways and stated: "Look yonder, do you see that highway there, 10 per cent is here."
This meant that the host had used 10 percent of the money his country had used on infrastructure to enrich himself.
This motivated the Nigerian minister who couldn't wait to try the newly found scheme once he got home.
Time passed and it was time for the Nigerian to return the favour by hosting his Malaysian counterpart.
Like his friend had done, the two toured parts of Nigeria and to the surprise of the guest, the roads were in a terrible condition compared to the ones in Malaysia.
The greatest contrast came when the settled for dinner at the African leader's palatial home.
"He found an Olympic sized swimming pool, the sofa sets were imported from Britain, most of the kitchen-ware were golden," Raila described the ministers home.
The Malaysian asked how his friend had accumulated wealth and was taken to the balcony.
"Do you see that highway there?," asked the west African minister but the Malaysian could see nothing.
Raila stated that the punchline was that the minister told his guest that 100 per cent of the money supposed to build the 'non-existent' road was used in his house.
