Speeding Bus Overturns at Muthaiga, Thika Road [VIDEO]

  • A speeding bus, on Tuesday morning, while travelling from Nairobi, lost control and overturned on Thika road.

    The accident, whose cause is yet to be established, is reported to have occurred past Muthaiga, outbound.

    No casualties were reported in the early morning crash.

    The accident resulted in slight traffic on the highway. Authorities, however, arrived a the scene and towed the vehicle away.

    In an effort to curb accidents caused by careless driving, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) permanently revoked the license of Abdulle Mohamed, the driver of the trailer that claimed lives along Kericho-Nakuru highway on Friday.

    The Authority further stated that the revocation was necessitated by the fact that the driver was a danger to all road users and that he should never be allowed to drive on Kenyan roads.

    The accident, which occurred on Friday last week, was a head-on collision which took place at the Kapmakaa area in Chepsir at around 6pm.

    Witnesses accounts claimed that the tanker veered off from its lane resulting in a head-on collision.

    Six people reportedly died on the spot while three others succumbed to injuries while on the way to the hospital.
