Celebrated Comedian Kazungu Matano popularly known as Captain Otoyo has made his return to Milele FM after a 2-year break from radio.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the outspoken presenter disclosed that he would be co-hosting the Milele Drive show that airs Mondays to Fridays between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Otoyo will co-host the show starting Monday, September 28, alongside Dee Presenter 001.

Sources at the broadcaster confirmed to this writer that the former hosts of the show, Jacqueline 'Wilbroda' Nyaminde and Francis Luchivya, would be debuting another show airing from 8 p.m. till midnight.

"It's not a new job, it's a comeback. I worked here for 4 years. It will start today Monday, September 28, 2020, at 4 p.m.," he stated.

Otoyo had been out of radio for two years following his controversial exit from Standard Media Group-owned Radio Maisha in 2018.

Sources from The Standard alleged that the veteran comedian had been cited for disciplinary issues for a while before he was shown the door.

The decision to terminate his services was communicated to him on Friday, July 20, by the human resource manager.

Radio Maisha, at the time, hired two new presenters, Billy Miya and Mwalimu Mbaruk, to take over from Otoyo and Alex Mwakideu (who left for Milele FM's morning show) in an effort to firm up its audience base.

In early August, Kenyans.co.ke learned that Milele FM failed in its bid to lure Comedian Professor Hamo, formally known as Herman Kago, to host the Milele Drive show.

An insider at Mediamax who spoke with Kenyans.co.ke on Monday, August 3, detailed that Hamo had already signed a contract with Milele FM

Milele FM had started running a radio promo of Hamo and Dee and on apparently catching wind of it, Hot 96 FM acted swiftly to retain the comedian. Hamo was reportedly offered another lucrative contract.
