The immediate former Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Films Classification Board (KFCB), Ezekiel Mutua, has opened up on his next plans after the dramatic ouster from office.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke on Friday, August 13, Mutua stated that he has resolved to make personal investments aimed at promoting clean content in the country.

Mutua, popularly referred to as the Moral Cop, told this writer that the idea of a society generating clean content is his passion which he is willing to invest in through education, networks, and financially to nurture those willing to conform to the idea of 'clean content sells.'

Mutua added that the idea gained momentum during his tenure at KFCB with different groups of creatives and sponsors already approaching him to execute the plan.

"I think it would suffice to say that I am overwhelmed by the positive reaction and the expression of interest by so many youths in the creative arts sector who want to team up with me in furthering the idea," he told Kenyans.co.ke.

"Some of them are sending practical proposals for partnerships, others are asking for support, others for loans and so many more."

Mutua argued that his ouster cannot derail his passion to push forward the idea of using content creators to showcase the rich Kenyan culture to the world and prove that he can actually implement what he was advocating for while heading KFCB.

"I have been supporting thousands of youths as the CEO of KFCB over the years. We have taken many to all corners of the world to participate in international fora and festivals, and their dreams do not have to die simply because there's an issue about my job," he stated.

Mutua, in his plan, says he intends to equip artists with enough knowledge to fight piracy and copyright issues that have always dragged the industry behind.

"A voice deep inside is telling me to venture into the creative economy and practice what I preach – invest in youths, create clean content, identify and nurture talent and use my experience in government and private sector to fight piracy and promote consumption of local content!" Mutua wrote on his social media page.

Alluding to the journey of American producer Tyler Perry, Mutua said that his legacy would define the content creation industry and prove that his dream was not aimed at killing the talents of the youth.

"I have sufficient experience, goodwill, and connections in the government and the private sector to support them. But more importantly for me is to explore the possibility of practicing what I preach on clean content, identifying and nurturing talent among the youth while promoting moral responsibility," Mutua stated.

On the issue of KFCB and his ouster, Mutua insisted that since Christopher Wambua was appointed as interim CEO, he has been supporting him.

He implied that he might challenge the decision, but on the other hand, says his ouster was not a matter of life and death.
