The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) on Friday, March 10 issued a directive affecting all 4,700 individuals with uncollected certificates.

In a statement, KNEC noted that the certificates, dating back to 2001, belong both to those who sat for the Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE).

According to KNEC, all those whose names appear on the two lists should trade in their faulty certificates for new ones.

"Customers whose names are on the list should carry their faulty certificates to enable them to collect the new ones," KNEC announced.

From the list published, 1,920 are uncollected KCPE certificates while 2,841 are for KCSE certificate candidates.

All those seeking to access the list of KCPE certificates were advised to visit: knec(dot)ac(dot)ke(forward slash)2023(forward slash)03(forward slash)10(forward slash)kcpe(hyphen)uncollected(hyphen)certificates(forward slash).

On the other hand, those looking for the full KCSE list should visit knec(dot)ac(dot)ke(forward slash)2023(forward slash)03(forward slash)10(forward slash)kcse(hyphen)uncollected(hyphen)certificates(forward slash).

Notably, KNEC has Query Management Information Systems (QMIS), a platform for online submissions and processing of queries relating to examination results for candidates who have lost their certificates.

QMIS also handles confirmation of examination results, equation of foreign qualifications, biodata amendments, direct recoveries for KCSE/KCPE result slips, certificates and result printouts, and results marks queries.

Candidates can register for the QMIS system online on the KNEC website and fill in all the required information.

"Your username and password are confidential. Do not disclose these to a third party," KNEC warned.

The functions of KNEC are outlined in Section 10 of KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012. Some include set and maintain examinations standard, undertake research on educational assessments, award certificates or diplomas to candidates in such examinations among others.
