An Administration Police officer is accused of raping a disabled young woman in Kericho County.
The 20-year old was allegedly defiled on Monday evening after she arrived home from the trading centre.
It is reported that the officer attached to Lesirwa police post offered the victim a ride to the town centre where he instructed the boda-boda operator to drop her at his place.
“There the officer while threatening me that he would kill me if I screamed, dragged me by the hand to his house and locked it,” she explained adding that the officer confiscated her phone and defiled her.
When she failed to return home that evening, her father together with other villagers went out to search for her only to find her at the officer's house on Tuesday.
She was taken to hospital where medical examinations conducted by Weldon Mitei, a medic at Kipkelion Sub-County Hospital, confirmed that she was raped.
Kipkelion OCPD Samuel Anambiu confirmed that the defilement had been reported at the police station and investigations had been launched.
