Deputy Inspector General Grace Kaindi Narrowly Escapes Attack In Nadome,Turkana County

Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi among other security officials narrowly escaped an attack Thursday, in the volatile Nadome area in Turkana County.

While assessing the damage in the area it is alleged that a raider injured and still laying in the bush shot several rounds at the security officials prompting them to scamper for safety.

According witnesses including Silale Member of County Assembly (MCA) Lotela Nelson, a local moran shot the attacker saving the security team which was not armed.

It is further alleged that Red Cross officials by Thursday had to rely on armed local morans to access the area, since security officers from neighbouring Silale and Kapedo camps were yet to be dispatched.

Five days now since a wave of banditry attacks that has so far claimed more than 50 lives hit the Nandome area, several bodies are still scattered in the region.

According to Peter Pamba  Director of Administration Police operations, 31 bodies have so far been collected and handed over to the Baringo County to carry out the burials.
