EACC Recommends Investigation Into Sonko's Kilifi Incident

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission has asked the senate and the CID to launch investigations into accusations that the Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko harassed officials at a weighbridge in Kilifi.

Sonko was accused of harassing officers of the Kenya National Highways Authority at Mtwapa in January, The Star reports.

According to Capital Fm, The EACC in a statement, said that Sonko had violated Chapter 6 of the Constitution and thus his case would be referred to the senate for disciplinary action.

Sonko is part of The List of Shame after he was named in a graft report accused of involvement in different corruption scandals.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko confirmed that he had received the recommendations made by the EACC and said he will review the file and make a decision.

The EACC has released several files on different individuals named in the report, and recommended that the ODPP charge them.
