Governor Demands Vetting of Garissa University Students Before They Enroll At Moi University

Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has asked the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the former Garissa University students who are relocating to Moi University in Eldoret, be vetted first to ensure that none of them has ties to Al shabaab or is associated with the terror group.

The Daily Nation quotes the governor saying that it is the only way to make sure that all those with Al shabaab links are weeded out.

Moi University’s Senate announced last month that the students who survived the terror attack at the university's satellite campus in Garissa will be allowed to complete their studies at the main campus in Kesses.

The governor however says that the students will only be allowed into the campus once they have been vetted.

Moi University is putting up measure to increase security in the school including building a police post on campus.
