Governor Tears MP Apart as Ruto Watches

Residents of Narok County were on Sunday treated to free drama after their Governor and a Member of Parliament (MP) angrily engaged in a war of words that almost turned physical in presence of Deputy President (DP) William Ruto.

Narok Governor Samuel Tunai and Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng'eno, publicly lectured each other prompting other leaders at the function to intervene and save the situation.

Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Environment Principal Secretary Charles Sunkuli, Ng'eno accused the county and national governments of abandoning the locals and failing to honour their campaign pledges.

In response to the comments, the Governor condemned the MP for criticising his government telling him to get married before commenting on county issues.

"This man has been faulting us yet there is nothing he has done. He keeps on lecturing us to build maternity wards yet he is not married. Go get married before you can tell us about hospitals," Mr Tunai said.

The Narok County boss further warned Mr Ng'eno against picking issues with the National and County Governments, tearing into his personal life as Ruto silently watched.

“Ng’eno has failed to find a wife to marry or even construct a home for himself – besides engaging in siphoning funds from the CDF kitty. He should tread carefully since we are going to deal with him politically,” he warned.

In a bid to make a comeback, the enraged MP immediately rose up and charged towards Governor Tunui, but was restrained to avoid the two from coming to blows.

The Deputy President was presiding over the homecoming event where politics took centre stage with some South Rift leaders accusing him of abandoning the region.
