Kidero's Aide Falls Sick After Dramatic Arrest

Governor Evans Kidero’s Chief of Staff on Friday failed to appear in court after he was arrested for attempting to silence Senator Mike Sonko with a Sh1 Million bribe over land scandal.

George Wainaina, who was dramatically arrested on Wednesday evening, is accused of illegally selling a public land in Loresho, Nairobi.

Wainaina's lawyer told the court that his client fell sick on Thursday and was admitted at Karen Hospital.

In his ruling, Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo said the defence lawyer should submit medical reports when the case is mentioned on January 15.

The Magistrate noted that a warrant for Wainaina's arrest would be issued if he failed to appear in court.

The Chief of Staff is accused alongside his secretary Roselyne Owuor, who denied charges of engaging in the bribery and was released on a Sh1 Million bond or Sh500,000 cash bail.

Wainaina together with his secretary were separately apprehended on Wednesday evening, after claims by Senator Sonko that the duo wanted to bribe him so he could keep quiet on corruption scandal in the county.
