Kiunjuri Answers Kenyans Questioning His ICC Trip

Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has come out to defended his presence in Hague, as part of the delegation that accompanied Deputy President William Ruto to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

According to Kiunjuri, he was at the City in Netherlands as a personal friend to the DP.

"The DP is a personal friend. We have been together in Parliament since 1997. His children go to school with my children. His wife and my wife are friends,” the CS stated.

He went further to put off his critics stating that: “Besides, as a Government minister, I can be anywhere any time carrying on with Government duties and without need to disclose what those duties are."

This is the first time the former Laikipia East MP is making a trip to the Hague-based court. Also in the delegation are Members of Parliament, Senators and Governors.

Social media went ablaze after CS Kiunjuri and his Energy counterpart Charles Keter were spotted among the group of Kenyan leaders who accompanied Ruto, with many questioning what role the two were playing.

Mr.Kiunjuri and C.Keter were appointed CS few days ago, now they are in Hague doing nothing. You now know why they got those jobs.
