Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy's Sudden Death Brings Trouble in NASA

The sudden death of Kwale Senator Boy Juma Boy has thrown the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party into a disarray with only about 5 months left to the August 8 Election.

Following his demise, the Opposition has since been driven back to the drawing board to find Boy's replacement as he was expected to defend the seat in the upcoming poll.

According to political pundits, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, who abandoned ODM to join President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee, had a huge political relief after the death of Boy as he (Senator Boy) enjoyed huge support in the county.

Political analysts also speculate that Boy's support would have been enhanced even further after former Cabinet Minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere joined the Opposition.

"Boy's death offers Mvurya a huge relief. He can now breathe easy. He could have faced a vicious political battle from Boy and Mwakwere who are both political heavyweights in Kwale,” the Standard reported.

Several politicians in Kwale have expressed interest in replacing Boy and they include; former Matuga MP Suleiman Kamole (ANC), Kinyasi Ginora (ANC), former Kwale County Council Chairman Mshenga Ruga (Jubilee) and Rashid Mzinga who is in KANU.

The political divide was heightened further during his burial where Jubilee affiliated leaders were heckled when they tried to deliver speeches.

Lunga Lunga MP Khatib Mwashetani was one of those who was embarrassed by rowdy youth, after which, he warned CORD leader Raila Odinga and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho against holding political rallies in his constituency.

Senator Boy died on February 12 at Aga Khan hospital after a short illness.
