Lawyer Vows Never to Call Uhuru President

A well-known Kenyan professor on Wednesday made it crystal clear that he would never refer to President Uhuru Kenyatta as the President.

During an interview on Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show, Makau Mutua firmly stated that he has never recognised President Kenyatta as the Head of State, adding that he never voted for him.

“I do not wish that he is re-elected, I never recognised him as the duly elected President and I will still never call him President,” Mutua asserted.

Through out the show, the prolific writer continuously referred to Kenyatta as 'Mr Uhuru' or 'Mr Kenyatta' and at one instance described him as “man from Gatundu”.

The political analyst noted that if Kenyatta failed to take drastic action in fighting corruption that has marred his Government, he would end up being a one term President.

"Unless Mr Kenyatta does some very dramatic...this man from Gatundu will be a one term President," Mutua stated.

The outspoken lawyer further reiterated that 'marriage' between Kenyatta and Ruto would not last long.

He alluded that Kenyatta was planning to drop Ruto and was looking for another running mate come the 2017 General Election.

Mutua did not leave any stone unturned while criticising the Jubilee government, as he took on the third most powerful person in the ruling coalition, Majority Leader Aden Duale.

He bashed Duale's fluency in the English language, stating that an article he (Duale) had written to respond to his (Mutua) critique could possibly not be his own.

"I do not think he wrote that piece. It was well written, the language there was clearly not his," Prof Mutua remarked.
