Mohamed Ali Responds To Calls For His Sacking

Moments after being bashed by Kenyans for his hard-hitting opinion piece on the Jubilee government, investigative journalist Mohammed Ali came out to respond to his critics.

The reporter took to his Facebook timeline to dismiss his haters saying that he would not relent from correcting the government on supposed wrong doings.

“36 bloggers are you done with ur UTOTO hashtag ama ningoje mchoke. Nataka ku - post article ya pili iwaguse ndipo tena ‪#‎KifoChaMende,‬” he posted.

Mr Ali was criticized after he posted a piece: Kifo cha mende cha isubiri Jubilee (The death of a cockroach awaits Jubilee) which was deemed too political and critical on the government.

He went ahead to hit the government raising issues of electoral malpractices, discrimination, failure to fulfill campaign pledges, and violation of the constitution.

The article elicited mixed reactions with those bashing him feeling that such hard-line politics were jeopardizing his objectivity as a journalist, therefore asking for his dismissal.

The journalist had earlier on been linked to eying the Nyali Parliamentary seat in the 2017 General Election, on an ODM party ticket.

However, he clarified the claims to Kenyans.co.ke saying: “I am currently a journalist, but if the right time comes to join politics, why not?”
