Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho Calls For Unity Among ODM Leaders

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Saturday lectured Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders from the Coastal region in the presence of Party leader Raila Odinga.

Speaking to residents during a meeting of ODM aspirants, Joho asked them to stop sideshows and wrangles within the party and instead focus on enhancing unity and cohesion ahead of the August elections.

A seemingly fired up Joho strongly condemned internal disputes within the party warning that it would lead to their downfall.

“There is no room for negative energy. We only want positive vibes,” he stated.

He called on the leaders to be aware of who the Party enemies were and concentrate on beating them in the upcoming polls rather that using their energy on infighting.

The ODM deputy leader expressed disappointment in people he claimed were working day and night to pull down their counterparts, noting that it would negatively affect the Party.

He also asked the leaders to be courageous whenever one of their own is attacked, referring to an incident where Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok was blasted by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“You need to be courageous whenever one of us is attacked. We ought to show solidarity during such moments,” he indicated.

Joho urged ODM members to quit complaining all the time but instead come up with amicable solutions to problems facing Kenyans affirming that it would guarantee them a win in the elections.

The Governor reassured his party leader Raila Odinga that he was fully behind his quest to become the next President declaring that he was not ready to withstand another five-year term under the Jubilee government.
