Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria caused confusion after he published a file video of ODM leader Raila Odinga accusing his NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi of being the mastermind of the Goldenberg scandal.
The video, which was recorded at a public rally in the 2002 General Election, captures Odinga painting Mudavadi as irredeemably corrupt.
“The person who presided over the entire theft in Goldenberg (scandal) is none other than Musalia Mudavadi and Nyayo himself (President Daniel arap Moi).
“In 1993 when Prof George Saitoti left Treasury, the minister who took over was known as Musalia Mudavadi. They paid 5.8 Billion,” Odinga stated.
Social media users appeared to be confused on the circumstances that led to the current ODM leader to make such unflattering words against Mudavadi.
Kenyans.co.ke could not independently verify the authenticity of the video.
However, Mudavadi and Odinga supported different political camps in the 2002 General Election.
Mudavadi was the running mate to the now President, Uhuru Kenyatta who unsuccessfully vied on the KANU ticket. Odinga supported Mwai Kibaki who went on to win the historic election on a NARC ticket.
