Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko on Tuesday volunteered to help carry the body of his bodyguard to the grave during the latter's burial in Mkongani, Kwale County.
The bodyguard, Corporal Bakari Tsuma Joto, was shot dead on Saturday night by unknown thugs near his residence in Mwiki area, Kasarani, moments after dropping Sonko at Gigiri in Nairobi.
Sonko emotionally expressed the loss of his bodyguard in an elaborate post on Facebook, admitting that Tsuma was one of his closest security details.
“For the last six years, I have been with the late Bakari, he was a dedicated officer and one of my most trusted bodyguards who performed his duties diligently,” expressed the flamboyant legislator.
The Nairobi Senator catered for all the funeral expenses and promised to continue supporting the Mr Tsuma's family.
