38 people were injured on Friday afternoon following a commotion at Kenyatta University's Post Modern Library.
The incident occurred after a terror scare that caused injuries and damage of some property as students tried to scamper for safety through the windows from upper floors of the building.
Unconfirmed reports indicate some students were fighting inside a computer lab causing a commotion which was mistaken for a terror attack prompting them to flee.
The institution's medical team immediately responded to attend to the injuries recorded.
Kiambu County Commander James Mugera confirmed the incident, assuring that the situation had been controlled.
This comes barely a week after 22 students were injured at Moi University in Eldoret as they escaped after an electric fault caused a similar scare.
