Pumwani Nurses Suspended For Participating In A Go-Slow

The ongoing go slow by nurses at the Pumwani Hospital in Nairobi has seen 51 nurses get suspended.

The nurses are among 186 nurses at the Maternity Hospital who have been on a go-slow since March after allegations were made that the nurses were involved in stealing newborns.

The Star quotes the Nairobi Health executive Benard Muia saying that the go slow was paralyzing operations at the hospital, putting in danger the lives of patients in the hospital.

He added that 100 nurses will be recruited from next week and others hired under the economic stimulus programme will also be absorbed.
