Security Sector To Get More Funds From the 2015/2016 National Budget

The security sector will greatly benefit in the next financial year after the cabinet on Wednesday approved the budget estimates for next years budget, a big portion of which will be assigned to infrastructure, military and police equipment.

Provisions have been made in the National Executive share to cater for the training and equipping of the Kenya Defence Forces and the National Police Service Commission to better handle security challenges.

This comes even as the security sector in the country continues to face challenges with terror attacks having been witnessed over the past year, recently leaving 147 students from the Garissa Unversity dead.

Next years budget has been tailored to support sectors that will ensure the attainment of the vision 2030  goals and to grow the economy by the end of the 2015/2016 financial year.

The budget also aims to increase funds towards increasing food production, growing the tourism sector and making health care and education accessible to all Kenyans.

The next financial year budget estimates will amount to Sh2.17 trillion.
