Suspected Al-Shabaab militia hijacked a miraa pick-up headed for Mandera Saturday morning.
The pickup transporting miraa from Meru to Mandera is said to have lost control and overturned after sliding in the mud before being hijacked by a group of people who appeared from the thickets the Star reports.
According to the driver of the pick-up the group stopped a bus heading to Mandera from Lafey forcing passengers to push the miraa vehicle back to the road before driving off.
Security officers have been deployed to the area to track the vehicle.
