VIDEO: MP Violently Kicks Youth in Mombasa

Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu angrily threw kicks at youth in Mombasa who were blocking him together with other Kiambu legislators from addressing the press outside the Mombasa Law courts.

Waititu and other leaders from Kiambu had gone to Mombasa to stand with blogger Anthony Njoroge Mburu, alias Waime Mburu, who had been arrested after accusing Kiambu Governor William Kabogo in a Facebook post that he imported substandard eggs .

Chaos erupted outside the court after youth who were against Mburu's allegations asserted that the blogger ought to have provided sufficient evidence. They waved placards bearing the words 'We Support Responsible Blogging'.

The protesting youth said that they worked and benefited from the Sea Cross company whose name Mburu had purpotedly tarnished, and they would not support such heinous claims.

Waititu together with the other leaders were forced to address the press at a separate location where they accused Kabogo of hiring the youth to cause fracas outside the law courts.

The blogger, who was remanded at Shimo la Tewa, appeared before the court on Tuesday where the Magistrate dismissed all the three charges levelled against Mburu, citing police lacked evidence to incriminate him.

According to the charge sheet, Mburu alleged that Kabogo bought a thousand acres in Kwale, where he established Sea Cross Farm as a cover-up to import cheap and low-quality eggs into the country. The blogger also alleged that the farm, which supplies eggs in Mombasa, had caused the death of poultry farming.
