VIDEO: Victor Wanyama Documentary Sparks Excitement among Kenyans

Kenyan midfilder Victor Wanyama has taken social media by storm after he shared an inspirational documentary about his football journey from Nairobi to the world's big stages.

In the short documentary titled: The Lion of Muthurwa, Wanyama narrates how he used to play soccer bare feet at their family's Muthurwa neighbourhood in Nairobi, before joining the national team then playing in Europe and becoming the first Kenyan to play in the English Premier League (EPL).

The Southampton holding midfielder takes his fans through some of his most touching and memorable moments from the remarkable goals he's scored, to receiving praises from English supporters and the tireless efforts he put in order to play in the popular EPL.

In the video, the Harambee Stars Captain gives a flashback of how he used to sneak into video halls to watch his football mentors like former Manchester United players Paul Scholes and Roy Keane.

Wanyama alludes that to gain international recognition from Africa, one has to be a lion which explains the documentaries title.

Through his website, the Saints skipper has dedicated the video to his Kenyan supporters and worldwide fans thanking them for their continued support.

“I’d like to welcome all my fans, the supporters of the Kenyan national team and all my previous clubs, and lovers of this great game. You guys are the life blood of our game, the very reason why we pull on our shirts with pride, as we strive to do the best. I’d like to invite you to be part of my football life,” he wrote.

The video has widely been shared with Kenyans on social media expressing their pride in the midfilder also known as 'Big Vic', urging him to keep moving on despite the problems rocking football management in the country.
