We Do Not Want Your Prayers South Rift MP's Tell CORD

South Rift legislators have vowed not to allow CORD members to hold prayer rallies in the region. The opposition led by Raila Odinga were planning to hold prayers for the Deputy President William Ruto in regard to his International Criminal Court (ICC) Case.

During a fund-raising for Soin/Sigowet Empowerment Women group in Kericho County, Ainamoi legislator Benjamin Langat blamed Raila for the problems the DP was facing and emphasized that they would not allow the opposition to hold any prayers in the south rift region.

"The former Prime Minister recently announced that CORD would begin holding prayer rallies in South Rift to pray for the deputy president and confess the truth over the Kenyan International Criminal Cases. We already know the truth and we don't welcome the opposition to politic in the region. If CORD's co-principals are serious, they should begin with their strongholds such as Bondo," Langat said.

The legislators have  questioned the sincerity of the CORD principal's intentions ,Joseph Limo the member of parliament for Kipkelion East claimed that his goals were misguided.

“We would not allow him to come here because we know he is insincere and wants to simply attempt to misled members of the Kalenjin community once again like he did in the 2007 general election," said Limo.

Raila who was recently accused by Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria for fixing Ruto at the ICC together with Martha Karua and Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o claims which they strongly disputed.

The Director of Public Prosecution  directed the Inspector General to act on the claims by Kuria since he had no powers to summon those mentioned by the legislator.
