What Sonko Finally Did to Suspects Following Him

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko reportedly pardoned five suspects who were arrested on Tuesday night for trailing him and his entourage for five hours, from Machakos to Nyali.

The flamboyant Senator said he convinced the police to release the suspects so that they could connect with their family members in ushering in the new year.

"Despite having several enemies, my conscience was not clear. I begged police to release them," the Star quotes Sonko.

During the incident, Sonko’s security officers are said to have shot severally in the air in an attempt to scare away the trailers who were driving in a Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Vogue. They later arrested and handed the suspects to police officers.

The suspects were locked up at Nyali Police station, before being released on Thursday. However, they are set to appear before Mombasa CID on January 10 for more questioning.
