Police Arrest 15 Chinese Nationals in Prostitution Ring

15 Chinese nationals were on Wednesday arrested for practising prostitution in South C area of Nairobi.

In a tweet by the Immigration Department, the arrested nationals were reported to be operating a brothel in the estate.

The 15 were arrested and processed for deportation at an unmentioned date.

This comes hot in the heels of orders issued by Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on illegal immigrants residing in Kenya.

Matiang’i gave the directive that would see a three-month crackdown on all foreigners living in Kenya without proper documentation.

Prior to that, the CS had issued a directive ordering foreigners working in the country without official work permits to get documentation or be arrested at the lapse of 60 days, noting the move would help the government get rid of tax evaders and criminals.

The CS disclosed how some of the foreigners come to Kenya and befriend Kenyan girls with the intention of getting documents to live in the country.

This came after 19 Nigerians were arrested and later deported in Umoja, Kasarani and Roysambu Estates within Nairobi for engaging in electronic fraud targeting Kenyans.

In another incident, police battled with a Cameroonian national in court who was deported last year but sneaked back to Kenya, throwing away his travelling documents as part of efforts to frustrate his re-deportation.

The suspect, Doctta Peter Longa was later rearrested in Parklands area after defrauding a businessman of Sh20 million on claims he would double the money.

Locals were also urged to participate in the exercise by dialling a hotline number to collaborate with the Police to help flash out illegals.
