Likoni residents were stranded at the ferry dock after missing the last trip on Sunday, March 29.

Interior Chief Administrative Secretary Hussein Dodo, who found the residents at the dock pointed out that the residents would have been forced to sleep outside had it not been for his intervention.

In a video posted by the Daily Nation on Sunday, March 29, the minister expressed his frustration with the residents' habit of ignoring curfew.

"I am very disappointed. Curfew in the whole of Kenya starts from 7.00 pm to 5.00 am," expressed Dodo.

Hussein Dodo highlighted that had he been absent, they would have had little alternative but to remain where they were until morning.

"It was decided today that you would sleep here but as I am here today I have taken pity on you. But tomorrow I won't be here," Dodo stated.

The interior CAS pointed out that many of those who were there had just made the crossing to the other side despite knowing that the curfew was in force.

"A lot of you have crossed right now to the other side. Curfew in Mombasa begins at 7.00 pm, that's when you should be in your house," Dodo informed the residents.

"Today is the last day," the interior CAS added as a cautionary note to those who would defy curfew orders again.

The curfew, which came into force on Friday, March 27 applies to all parts of Kenya and is provided for under the Public Order Act.
