According to Nyong'o, the first two cases were long-distance truck drivers, both male and aged 29 years and 82 years.

The former Kisumu Senator revealed details of the third patient who travelled back to Nairobi following a funeral and was screened in Kisumu.

"The third case, a 33-year old female, was identified by our Public Health surveillance team having travelled with 19 other persons from Nairobi to attend a funeral in Nyando Sub-County on Saturday, May 23, 2020.

"All the 20 were screened and tested for Covid-19. This case, having travelled back to Nairobi, has been referred to Nairobi Metropolitan surveillance teams and is currently in an isolation facility," wrote Nyong'o.

The Governor added that the county has stepped up its efforts in contact tracing and testing for all the 3 confirmed cases.
