Kalonzo's Message To Uhuru Upon His Return

National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has asserted his stand on him being sworn-in alongside Raila Odinga if President Uhuru Kenyatta does not call for a dialogue on electoral justice.

Speaking at Kyondoni village, Kitui County where he visited the burial site of the late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze, the Wiper Party leader explained that Uhuru's failure to address opposition’s grievances played a key factor in their decision to push forward with their swearing in ceremony.

"I am telling my brother Uhuru Kenyatta if he abdicates the responsibility of uniting this nation, he should not blame Raila and Kalonzo when we say there will be a swearing in ceremony," he stated.

Speaking for the first time since his return from Germany, Kalonzo has asked Uhuru to urgently call for extensive dialogue with the NASA leaders to ensure lasting national unity.

“If Uhuru abdicates his duty of uniting this nation, then don’t blame Raila and Kalonzo if they get sworn in,” commented Kalonzo

NASA deputy Kalonzo Musyoka has come out for the first time to announce his stance on the swearing in of leader Raila Odinga. Kalonzo reiterated that opposition was fully intent on overseeing the inauguration of their leader Raila Odinga.

While terming President Kenyatta’s refusal to dialogue as “insensitive”, the former Vice President noted that the country is deeply divided and only talks on electoral justice between the main political players will bring an end to the current political impasse.

“The truth is that the presidential election was bungled and the country is polarized along tribal lines and we cannot proceed like this,” said Kalonzo.

He cited recent calls for dialogue by western envoys among them US ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec and UK high commissioner Nic Hailey, stating that they will however not entertain any other talks apart from ensuring electoral justice and conducting a new poll.

Kalonzo reitarated that NASA votes were stolen during the August 8th general election.

This comes even after President Kenyatta on December 9, dismissed any possibility of holding any dialogue with opposition Chief Raila Odinga on electoral reforms.
