Citizen TV reporter, Hassan Mugambi, was interrupted during a live TV session at Kasarani Stadium by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party supporters during the Azimio La Umoja convention.
Mugambi, who was briefing viewers at the entrance of the stadium on the progress of the event, was suddenly interrupted by fans who were excited to see him.
"I usually see you on TV, is it you? Greet me. Francis Gachuri, how are you?" Asked one of the fans, who seemed to confuse Mugambi with reporter Francis Gachuri.
The celebrated reporter was forced to cut short his commentary on the arrival of supporters to calm the fans who were arguably aware that it was a live TV session.
Mugambi, who embraced the moment also gave one of them a chance to speak and state what he anticipated from Odinga's event.
In the same event, soaring TV reporter, Samuel Letoo, was also treated with the same ecstatic reception by the ODM supporters, who shouted his name from a charged crowd.
His fanatics held high a finely printed placard with the names 'STEPHEN LETOO' with a clock-print bearing the Citizen TV logo in between the two names.
Letoo is known for covering hard news and he has been synonymous with the most chaotic political rallies, including weekly demonstrations by the National Super Alliance coalition led by Raila Odinga, that rocked the country after the 2017 elections.
Letoo was also injured together with other journalists in an altercation that ensued between police and journalists, at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in 2018 during the deportation of lawyer Miguna Miguna.
