Moses Kuria Wishes More CORD Protesters Died

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Wednesday made outrageous statements following the death of CORD protesters during Monday protests against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In his Facebook post, Kuria stated that the number of people killed during the demonstrations was small and wished more could have been shot.

“I really wish more died. The shooting skills of our police are questionable, ” Kuria wrote on his Facebook post.

The lawmaker further pointed out that the 'dead supporters were playing dead and should wake up'.

“It is time CORD asks the 4 dead fools from Siaya and Kisumu to wake up and go home. If the cops are acting up let's end the morgue drama too,” Kuria stated.

The Gatundu-South legislator who has been at the forefront condemning the anti-IEBC protests was heavily attacked for the detestable remarks.

The controversial lawmaker was criticising CORD for reportedly saying that police officers injured during the anti-IEBC protests and flown to Nairobi for treatment was simply a stunt by the Government,

Last week, Kuria was also on the receiving end after commending the anti-riot police for attacking protesters. He indicated that he would urge other lawmakers to increase financial allocations to security agents so they could purchase more weapons to use on demonstrators.

“Well done Police! As a member of the parliamentary budget committee, I can confirm we will be reviewing the budget of the police upwards to cater for emerging issues like need for more and extra lethal teargas. And now they are saying the police used live bullets. Did they want you to use dead bullets?[sic]” stated the Gatundu MP.
