MP Storms Out of Interview over Incitement

Drama was witnessed on live television on Tuesday night after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria walked out of an ongoing interview on his recently released incitement video.

Appearing on the show, The Big Question on Citizen Tv, Kuria was at odds in explaining himself over the video in which he tells youth to cut those opposed to the National Youth Service (NYS).

During the interview, Kuria claimed his utterances were taken out of context.

He insisted that the clip circulating online had been edited and wanted the full clip, which he claimed to be about 45 minutes to be played.

When the host asked for the clip to be played in order for the legislator to explain his statements, an enraged Kuria walked out.

Since the video emerged over a week ago, NCIC chair Francis Ole Kaparo wrote to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Inspector General of Police asking for the prosecution of Kuria.

The MP has since appeared before the Directorate of Criminal Investigation headquarters and the Milimani Law Courts to answer to allegations of incitement.

He has received criticism from fellow leaders and Kenyans on his inflammatory statement.
