Raila Explains Why He Attacked Uhuru on Twitter

NASA leader Raila Odinga has explained why he went ballistic on twitter and fiercely attacked President Uhuru Kenyatta in a series of tweets.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Odinga indicated that Kenyatta had crossed the red line and was now personalising attacks against him in a manner that he termed as “hitting below the belt”.

The former Prime Minister was speaking in reference to the President's recent tour of Central Kenya where Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto condemned him and even asked him to retire from politics vowing to be providing "porridge" for him at his Bondo home.

“It's unfortunate that their responses have been too personalised. Some of them I would say hitting below the belt…. the extent that I think that a contempt card is the best response rather than trying to dignify it,” Odinga stated.

He added: “There is what you call in politics hitting below the line… Somebody hits you where you're not supposed to be touched… so you use your contempt card and you can respond to them through the social media because that’s where there also hitting at you.”

The Opposition Leader further claimed that Kenyatta was creating “Raila Phobia” in Central Kenya to fire up the residents against him.
