CCTV footage has emerged of an incident where a police officer is accused of robbing a Nairobi accountant Ksh 5 million at a business park along Muthithi Road, Westlands, on Wednesday, December 9.

In the footage aired by Kameme TV, the policeman could be seen leading a group of three men who were reported to be workers at the business park.

Owners of the business park alleged that the suspects were ferried by a motorbike rider who was also captured parked outside the premises.

The three had decided to use an elevator to meet their target but opted for the staircase after a lady joined them in waiting for the elevator at the parking lot.

The policeman who was wearing a white cap was then led to an elevator where the said accountant was accessing the building.

He could be seen pulling his gun, pointing at his victim in an apparent threat to shoot.

The robbers then walked out of the building with a bag which they had forcefully grabbed from the accountant. They passed by an unsuspecting security guard who was leaning on the wall in a relaxed posture.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the policeman and his gang were arrested hours after they robbed the accountant.

"Armed with pistols, the four, together with others who are being sought accosted the accountant while inside a lift as she was heading to deposit the cash in the bank," read a statement from DCI.

The sleuths recovered Ksh 1.1 Million from one of the suspects' houses Albert Ochola, located in Huruma estate, Nairobi.

Ochola worked in the building as a plumber. Ksh1.3 Million was recovered from Walter Kiverenge's house at Kawagware stuffed inside a water dispenser.

Another suspect, Bernard Ogutu was arrested with Ksh1.1 Million. The three will be arraigned in court on Thursday, December 10.
