"She started recording herself on the phone and I used to tell her that once she spots something nice there, she makes it a habit to record it and share the clip with me. It always made me happy seeing her there.

"Her success is my success and her failures are mine as well. I was fond of showing my friends, my daughter's progress. So, she recorded the clip for me and the entire family to see. It is unfortunate that she screamed the whole time and ended up drowning, "he stated.

Detailing the final moments of his daughter, John noted that Wendy had left work early in a bid to return to the hotel where she stayed at the time. She decided to cool herself at the pool before the tragic incident occurred.

"I was informed that she had left her workplace, there is a certain colleague who affirmed that she had left work early and left him there. The guy later went home. Wendy was staying at a hotel that had a swimming pool. So she had gone back there, had her lunch and since it was during hot hours, she decided to cool herself up in the pool. She was all alone in the pool," he pointed out.

Upon retrieving the body from the pool, the police contacted one of Wendy's colleagues who phoned the family. At the time, the father suspected that something might have happened to her daughter before receiving the ultimate news.

The final message that he wrote to his daughter read: Your brother is talking of bad news. Which is this bad news?

According to John, the message did not even go through and he later received a phone call from her colleague who informed her of the incident.

Wendy was a trained nurse at the age of 23. She drowned while interacting with her friends on Facebook. She had swam for 10 minutes before gasping for air and screaming for help.
