Man Torches Self Inside Family Home in Kitengela Over Domestic Wrangles

A man in Kitengela has torched himself inside his home, consequently setting the house on fire.

In the Wednesday, March 27, morning incident, it is reported that the man disagreed with his wife, and then proceeded to torch the house.

However, it was unclear what issue had embroiled the couple in the argument resulting in the man's successful attempt at immolation.

Alleged reports, propose an interesting twist to the story; the house was owned by the wife.

Details of the event revealed that the man’s family was not present in the home at the time of the torching incident.

He is reported to have sent away the house help who was working in the house before setting the house ablaze.

Neighbours reported seeing smoke billowing from the house before they rushed to the home in an attempt to quell the inferno

Firefighters and the Police arrived at the scene and were seen to work towards putting out the fire.

The Police have confirmed the incident, stating that one body which was burned beyond recognition was retrieved from the house.

In a separate incident on March 11, a man in Nyandarua County is said to have attacked his estranged wife killing her and her daughter before he went on to kill himself.

It was reported that the woman had separated from her ex-husband and was living with her children close to Munyaka Police Station in Nyandarua.

Reportedly, the man tracked her down, killed her using a crude weapon and later trailed the woman’s daughter who had witnessed the gruelling crime, and hacked her.
