Popular comedian and former National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) board member Vincent Mwasia alias Chipukeezy on Sunday, April 14, revealed hurdles that have stopped his show from airing on the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).

In a statement issued by his company Ufalme Entertainment, the comedian revealed that the media house had failed to channel payments for the Chipukeezy Show as agreed in the contract signed between the two parties, since November 2023.

The show had been airing every Monday from 8 pm to 9 pm on the national broadcaster before taking an abrupt break.

"It is with a heavy heart we must inform you of the ongoing delay in payments from our media partner KBC. Since November, we have encountered significant delays in receiving payments from KBC, despite our best efforts to uphold our commitment to all stakeholders involved in the production of 'The Chipukeezy Show'.

The entertainer was responding to queries as to why the show stopped airing on the national broadcaster.

He emphasised that the delay in payments has hindered the operation of the show and also paying other stakeholders involved in production.

In the statement signed by Michael Muthama on behalf of Ufalme Entertainment, the entertainer explained that the team was committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity and the delay was hurting the partners, suppliers and artists.

The comedian further noted the team was working to engage KBC to resolve the delay for the show to be aired in due time. Additionally, the team lauded the show's fans who have continued to show their support.

"Your continued viewership and participation fuel our efforts to keep entertaining and cultivating talents. We are immensely grateful for being the driving force behind our mission," read part of the statement.

Meanwhile, the entertainer revealed that the show would resume soon on KBC once the pending matter was promptly resolved.

Chipukeezy interviews various types of guests in his show including upcoming artists among others who get to answer questions in the presence of a live audience. The show had gained popularity amassing thousands of views on different social media platforms.

Currently, the entertainer airs his show on his YouTube Channel.
