Swiss National with Kenyan Pornography Films Arrested

Police in Naivasha on Monday arrested a Swiss national who was in possession of locally filmed pornography involving minors.

The man, who was not identified by the police, is alleged to have been producing pornography in the last couple of years and had been under investigations since 2013.

The Swiss is said to have been arrested in 2013 for pedophiliac behaviour, but later released following lack of evidence.

Confirming the arrest, Naivasha Criminal Investigation Department (CID) boss Martin Mbaya, said that the man was reported to the police by his wife, who discovered pornographic films on his laptop.

“The wife reported over the weekend. The Swiss is currently in police custody and he shall be charged in court facing defilement and indecent assault charges among others.

“This office has carried out preliminary investigations and impounded a computer and laptop which are alleged to contain pornographic materials,” said Mbaya.

Police who arrested him were shocked to find his laptop full of pornographic materials some of which had been recorded locally.

Mbaya has since written to CID boss Ndegwa Muhoro seeking assistance from the child protection unit due to the seriousness and sensitivity of the matter.

In January 2014, an American citizen John D. Ott, 68, was sentenced to 20 years in jail for sexually abusing 14 minors in Kenya over a period of eight years.
