Liverpool will head into their clash against Bournemouth with one eye on the UEFA Champions League as they face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, March 11, and will most likely field a second-string side.

Manchester Derby is the headline clash of the weekend with United chasing a return to the Champions League next season.

Liverpool vs Bournemouth (Saturday 7th March 3:30 PM)

Liverpool’s wheels seem to be falling off at a crucial stage of the season after exiting the FA Cup following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

The Reds have suffered three losses in their last four games but despite those triple defeats, Klopp will be more concerned about his side not finding the back of the net.

Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are arguably the best-attacking trio in the globe bagging a combined total of 46 goals in all competitions thus far this season but have been misfiring of late.

Injuries to Jordan Henderson and James Milner looked to have destabilized the unperturbed Liverpool machine that looked to go the whole season unbeaten.

Since Bournemouth earned a promotion to the Premier League back in 2015 only one league match against.

Liverpool has failed to produce over 2.5 goals with the last eight fixtures producing at least three goals.

Bournemouth will be heading into the clash against the table-toppers in relegation places having won only one of their last five games.

The Cherries have conceded a whopping 45 goals which is the Division’s fifth-highest and have also had trouble on the other end of the pitch, scoring just 28 goals.

Eddie Howe will be buoyed by their 2-2 draw against Chelsea last time out and will be hoping his boys can replicate the spirited performance when they face the reigning European Champions who look vulnerable.

Despite their rough patch of form Liverpool are expected to win after going 54 league games unbeaten at home.

Chelsea vs Everton (Sunday 8th March 5 PM)

Chelsea will not be boisterous despite enjoying home advantage in this clash as they have registered a mere six wins in 14 league games at Stamford Bridge this season.

Bar Chelsea, Southampton are the only side to have won more points away from home than at their own backyard in the Premier League.

Lampard will be worried about his leaky defence that has shipped in 39 goals and has seen constant chopping and changing in the defensive line, even in the goalkeeping department.

Chelsea can siphon confidence from their 2-0 win over Liverpool as they continue to push for a place in the top four with Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers breathing heavily down their necks.

Everton have recently been a boogie side to Chelsea as the Blues have failed to win any of their last four games against the Toffees.

Carlo Ancelotti has managed to turn things around at Goodison Park with the club now challenging for European places which is a contrast to a side that was battling relegation when he took over.

Everton’s last six fixtures have seen both teams score and with Chelsea also poor defensively, goals are expected in the clash.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a man enjoying the form of his life after scoring seven goals in the last 10 games which include three in the last three matches.

Manchester United vs Manchester City (Sunday 8th March 7:30 PM)

Manchester fans will be treated to their fourth Manchester Derby this weekend as United have an edge with two wins to City’s one.

Both teams arrive into the match in good form with City winning their last five games while United have gone eight games unbeaten.

City are the league’s top scorers with 68 goals this season and have already bagged their first piece of silverware after beating Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup final last weekend.

City can afford some complacency in the league this season having little or close to none chances of winning the title and top four finish is theirs to lose but could still miss out on a place in the Champions League due to their two-season ban for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.

United’s blueprint of beating City has always been to hit them on the counter but they will be lacking the services of Marcus Rashford through injury who has been a vital jig-saw to the puzzle.

Bruno Fernandes has breathed some life into the United team and it is yet to lose a game while playing for the side, having scored three goals in the last three games.

With United chasing a top four finish, a top five bracket could still earn them a place in the Champions League with their arch rivals Manchester City banned in the competition, the matter is, however, pending decision after an appeal.

An interesting statistic of the Derby is that in the last four matches no club has won their home tie with City being the only side to win in their backyard in the last seven Derby clashes.

All sets of matches are set to offer thrilling entertainment especially with something at stake in the clashes.
