The cross-county borders are open once again!

I can sing, dance and ululate in five different counties now... finally my tik tok videos will have a different background and new characters.

As much as I am excited to get back out there and trust me, two months being locked down in Nairobi just made me realise, I am not born for the city- not 24/7 -  I am ready to do it safely.

I have no intentions of getting infected with Covid-19.  Rona who? - am I right?

While in lockdown, I had mapped out all the places I was going to visit, some I found in an interesting twitter thread, some were sourced from impressive Instagram throwbacks by my favorite celebrities. A visit to Masai Mara under 5K - sign me up.

To sweeten the deal, tour companies have now sprung back to life with offers that seductively whisper - You know you want some adventure!

As I type this, I am literally buzzing with excitement as I complete my payment for the weekend plan using my Co-op Cash App. My phone buzzes, transaction complete... ooh the goosebumps.

In another page in my notebook, I discovered a new athlete category called ultra running and for a moment I wanted to do that. It involves running for 50 kilometres which in hindsight must have been the adrenaline pushing me towards it.

The quote on that page read "Go Out, Challenge Yourself, the Reward is worthwhile,"

Now that I have to actually do it... I think I'll pass. I'd rather go for a massage after a run at Karura Forest. Less kilometres but with all the views.

My phone buzzes again and this time it's my first lady who's been in Voi at her folks place all this while... How I miss her.

I must video call her, because what I have planned cannot be properly relayed over a phone call. I purchase credit chap chap on the Co-op Bank's online banking and within minutes we are chatting.

"Aki babe nimekumissss!" she drags the last part in a manner to suggest I should drastically reduce the distance between us and as predicted her next words are "This long-distance is killing me!"

Yes we are cheesy like that as we both burst out in laughter.

Well, I tell her about my weekend plans and how I'd have to cancel them to come see her but she's like "Isn't there a couple's package?"

Patikana - "yes of course ... In my excitement while booking, I must have forgotten I am dating," I joke but she isn't amused.

The next course of action is to get her here. Busses have also moved their booking services online. Three web pages later, and a quick, secure tap on my Co-op Account, she's booked on the Business class of the next bus to Nairobi.

We end the video chat and I can't stop smiling... It's going to be lit!

That's my weekend sorted. Come to think of it, this will be interesting, I should vlog this!
