Patrick Gachahi Macharia, a 44-year-old farmer from Nakuru, is the latest millionaire in town, courtesy of Betika.
Macharia, who is a farmer and a businessman in Nakuru, correctly predicted 15 games after staking Ksh15 to bag Betika’s Ksh15 Million mid-week jackpot.
The farmer relocated to Nakuru in 2013 from Nairobi in pursuit of greener pastures. Macharia started betting in 2016 with no significant wins, which led him to join and trying his luck on the leading betting platform in 2018.
“On Tuesday, September 21, while in Nakuru, I really didn’t have bundles but thanks to the Bet Bila Bundles option on Betika, I was able to pick my 15-game selection on probably the biggest smartphone. That phone is so big, I’m usually embarrassed to carry it around,” the elated Mwangi narrated.
“I usually bet on multiple combinations and spend approximately Ksh75 bob every week. I didn’t think much about this mid-week jackpot combination because I have registered a few periodic small wins. I watched a few games but due to my busy schedule, I didn’t look at my slip again until Friday, September 24. Good things do come to those who wait.”
He noted that from 2018, he had been placing bets, and although registering some wins, he never won such a huge amount, adding that he never gave up due to his love of analysing games.
As for his future plans upon registering the win, the farmer affirmed that he would add more parcels of land to what he already has and that he would buy rare breeds of animals and boost his other businesses.
