Members of the Kyaume community in Kako, Makueni County, have a reason to smile after leading betting company, Mozzart Bet Kenya commissioned its 13th borehole at the local school.

The project is part of the company’s ‘Action 100 Wells’ programme geared towards helping communities gain access to clean drinking water, a move that opens a window of opportunities by making life better for those that benefit.

Mozzart Bet has been sinking boreholes in various parts of the country on a regular basis as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as they look to play their part in mitigating water shortage in the country.

The water project, fully funded by gaming firm Mozzart to the tune of Ksh3.6 million and officially commissioned on Friday, 2 June, 2023, is located at St. Paul’s Kyaume Primary School.

“We gather to witness a significant milestone in our commitment to uplifting the lives of Kenyan communities.

I would like to express my gratitude to the members of the community who have been instrumental in making this project a reality. Your unwavering support and collaboration have been the driving force behind our determination to improve access to clean and safe water for the people of this community,” Mozzart Bet Kenya Country Manager Saša Krneta said.

The CSR program was designed with the sole purpose of providing essential water resources to communities in need. The company firmly believes that access to clean water is a fundamental human right, and through their initiative, strives to make a positive and lasting impact on the lives of our fellow Kenyans.

“The completion of this borehole represents more than just a source of water; it signifies hope, health, and prosperity for the Kyaume community. We understand the challenges faced by many communities in accessing clean water, and it is our mission to alleviate that burden. With this borehole, we aim to improve the quality of life for the people here by addressing one of their most basic needs,” Krneta added.

The Kyaume project comes hot on the heels of another borehole drilled, in February, in honour of John Akong'o, the Grand Prize Winner of the Hit the Highest Odds Chimbiwa Maji Promotion activated during last year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

“This project is a testament to our unwavering commitment to CSR. At MozzartBet Kenya, we firmly believe that businesses have a duty to contribute to the well-being of the societies in which they operate.

We are dedicated to going beyond our core business and investing in sustainable projects that make a real difference in the lives of ordinary people,” he added, further emphasizing the tremendous impact it will have on the lives of the Kyaume community.

The head teacher, of St Paul’s Kyaume Primary School, Dominic Nzioki, says the project at his school is timely, promising to maximize the commodity to expand projects the school and community are running.

“We have a shamba in school, and it was challenging to have crops here for such a dry area. That changes today as we intend to have nursery beds with the seedlings distributed in the community.

MozzartBet has touched many lives in our community, and we are forever indebted,” he said, calling on the company to help the school install a fence to protect the installed equipment at the water pump.

Meanwhile, area chief DonBosco Kisambo thanked the betting firm for the life-changing initiative reiterating the project's impact on the community.

“We are grateful to our donors for their good job. We promise to take good care of this facility and avoid any form of vandalism.

This will be a life-changing facility as our people will no longer have to walk long distances to get clean water. It is not only a time-saving initiative but one that will have a far-reaching positive impact on our peoples’ livelihoods,” Kisambo offered.
