UNHCR & Safaricom's 2nd Edition of the #Bongaforlife Campaign to Support Displaced Women and Girls Underway

The #BongaForLife campaign 2023 was launched by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, in partnership with Safaricom on December 15, 2023.

This December until early next year, Kenyans are donating their Bonga Points to support displaced women, girls and their host communities who have been affected by gender-based violence. 

This year, your Bonga points will raise funds to support the provision of medical assistance, psycho-social counselling support, and safe shelter for displaced gender-based violence survivors.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, aims to raise funds to provide critical healthcare services to 320,000 vulnerable displaced women and girls and their host communities.

UNHCR helps refugee children to go to school, which protects them from gender-based violence. They also identify children at risk of such gender-based violence and connect them to appropriate services.

• KES 1,000 to provide urgent medical assistance for a rape survivor. 
• KES 2,500 can provide tarpaulin sheeting for a rape survivor’s emergency shelter.
