Boxraft is seeking a talented and creative Video Editor to join our dynamic team in Nairobi. As a key player in our video production and post-production processes, the Video Editor will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from captivating documentaries to engaging digital videos, employing their creativity and technical skills to tell stories that resonate with our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with our production team to understand project objectives and creative direction.
- Edit video footage to create compelling narratives, incorporating effects, graphics and transitions that align with Boxraft's high-quality standards.
- Work with motion graphics and animation to enhance video content, including lower-third graphics, kinetic typography and custom animations.
- Perform colour correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and appeal.
- Engage in the post-production process from logging and organizing footage to final editing, ensuring all elements meet our narrative and technical criteria.
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions for upcoming projects and campaigns.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in video editing and post-production to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and other video editing software.
- Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing and editing techniques.
- Experience with colour correction and grading tools, such as DaVinci Resolve.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently.
- At least 3 years of experience in video editing or a related field.
- A portfolio showcasing your video editing projects.
