ODM also confirmed the attack of the Nairobi Chairlady and her driver on Tuesday last week after protestors successfully entered Parliament.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday Philip Etale ODM's Communications Director revealed that Okoth was attacked while leaving the County Assembly after protestors also breached security and entered the premises.

She was in the company of her driver who was ferrying her out of town before protestors attacked them by throwing a stone at the windscreen.

This distracted the driver and impaired his vision resulting in him veering off the road and into a nearby ditch the General Post Office (GPO).

Etale added that the protesters saw an opportunity to cause more harm to the two individuals. They ambushed them vandalising the car and injuring the two.

Videos of the incident making rounds on social media showed angry protestors hitting the vehicle with stones and reaching inside the car through the broken windows. The MCA incurred losses due to the damages to the car.

Furthermore, Etale added that after the protestors left, an ambulance arrived and rushed them both to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). They were later transferred to a private hospital where they underwent surgery.

"They were both severely injured, Okoth had a deep cut on her head but they are both okay now, They were discharged from the hospital and are recuperating at home," he added.

He also responded to allegations that Okoth and her driver had run over and killed a protestor while leaving Parliament. He explained that the vehicle ferrying the MCA did not hit any of the protestors.

Etale added that despite the driver losing control and his vision being impaired, no one was injured by the vehicle. He lamented that protestors were stoning each vehicle suspected to belong to politicians.
