Popular commuter bus company, Super Metro, has announced the resumption of services after it met all the compliance requirements by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
While announcing their resumption on Thursday afternoon, Super Metro noted that the clearance to resume operations followed a thorough review by both NTSA and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB).
According to the bus company, its team had, for the last three days, been working tirelessly to address all directives, ensuring that its services meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory adherence.
"Super Metro Limited is thrilled to announce that we have successfully met and surpassed all compliance requirements set by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the Transport Licensing Appeals Board (TLAB)," Super Metro announced.
"We are excited to once again serve the people of Kenya, providing safe and efficient transport solutions to communities across the region," it added.
Addressing members of the public moments after being cleared by the relevant authorities, the company expressed its gratitude to its customers, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities for their patience and support during the three days.
Super Metro further reiterated its commitment to maintaining full compliance and delivering exceptional service as it formally resumes operations a month after it was suspended by NTSA.
The latest announcement comes barely days after Super Metro temporarily suspended its services for three days to allow ample time for full compliance with the law.
The company on Monday, April 14, issued a statement announcing the temporary suspension of services, noting that the Transport Licensing Appeals Board directed it to halt operations for the next three days to finalise the remaining compliance measures.
In the notice, the firm noted that it had already achieved a 90 per cent compliance with the directives issued by NTSA and TLAB but maintained that it would adhere to the suspension notice.
"Following a hearing with the Transport Licensing Appeals Board today, the Board has directed Super Metro Limited to suspend operations for the next three days to finalise the remaining compliance measures," Super Metro announced.
"Super Metro Limited fully respects the decisions of the TLAB and the court. We are working diligently to address the outstanding compliance issues within the stipulated timeframe and will resume operations as soon as we receive approval from the relevant authorities," it added.
