Several people sustained injuries on Monday evening after a bus they were travelling in got involved in an accident near Mwingi town along the Thika-Garissa highway.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred after the bus, which was carrying a full load of passengers, lost control and veered off the road before overturning beside the highway.
Area residents who witnessed the incident rushed to the scene and began retrieving those trapped under the wreckage before taking them to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The bus is said to have departed Nairobi on Monday, September 29, at around 3pm and travelled for three hours before getting involved in the crash a few minutes to 6pm.
