Chama Cha Kazi party leader Moses Kuria has broken his silence after Makadara MP George Aladwa publicly denounced his offer of being his running mate in the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race. Kuria claimed that Aladwa's decision was influenced by powerful offices.
The former Cabinet Secretary revealed this through a social media statement made on 3rd December 2025 where he registered his disappointment over the political development.
Kuria claimed that powerful offices summoned the Makadara MP and ordered him to denounce the agreement he allegedly had with the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader.
"George Aladwa was summoned last evening by holders of extremely powerful offices and ordered to denounce our agreement on Nairobi Governor ticket. I respect his decision," Kuria alleged.
The former presidential adviser further urged the forces behind Aladwa's alleged political about-turn to relax, claiming that he wants to save Nairobi city which he referred to in his statement as a 'collapsing city'.
"I want to tell those forces to relax. I want to be Governor of Nairobi to save this collapsing city. But it's not life and death affair for me," Moses Kuria claimed.
Moses Kuria had posted on his social media a campaign poster on November 30, 2025, which announced George Aladwa as his running mate in the upcoming general elections. This signalled a possible alliance between the Chama Cha Kazi party and ODM.
An announcement that was denounced by the ODM Member of Parliament who on 2nd December 2025, claimed that he will be contesting in the 2027 Nairobi gubernatorial race as governor under the ODM party.
"I have said that I will not be Moses Kuria's deputy, I will be vying for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat under the ODM party in 2027," Aladwa announced.
Moses Kuria in his statement announced that he respects Aladwa's decision of denouncing the Kuria-Aladwa Nairobi ticket.
The former Cabinet Secretary now says that the move by the said 'powerful forces' has exposed their 2027 game plan. A move that he insinuates will help him in his quest to remove Johnson Sakaja as the Nairobi Governor in 2027.
